Job Descriptions

The Cache County Sheriff’s Office will continually accept applications for Deputy Sheriff and Civilian Control Room Operator positions. Dates for Deputy Sheriff tests will be advertised here and sent to those who have applied. Tests will be offered approximately every quarter.

Type: General
Application Due: May 21, 2008, Noon

To apply submit the following:

  1. A $20.00 non refundable testing fee
  2. Two applications (submit BOTH )
  3. A one page resume
  4. Copies of any POST certification
  5. Copy of Drivers License

  • A $20.00 non refundable testing fee must accompany both applications.
  • Attach a one page resume and copies of any POST certification to your application.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (preference given to applicants with a 2 or 4 year university degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, political science or related fields)
  • Must be citizens of the United States
  • Must have a valid Utah drivers license at time of appointment
  • No disqualifying criminal history
  • No DUI convictions in the past 4 years
  • Be willing to locate in Cache County if hired
  • Successfully pass a background investigation

Testing Requirements:

  • Applicants will have to successfully pass the physical testing standards which include:
    • Virtical Jump: 16 inches
    • Sit Ups: 26 Reps (one minute)
    • Push Ups: 18 Reps (no time limit and no rest period)
    • 1.5 Mile Run: 15:54 Minutes
  • Other testing process may also include written, oral, and situational segments.
  • Prior to hiring, applicants will be subject to a extensive background investigation.
